So much for protective sleeves. Score is now Keepers 0, Butterstick at least 3.

I was just at the zoo. I couldn't see if he got stuck inside that metal sleeve but he's climbed way passed it. I will give an update soon. Downloading photos right now.

I hope he didn't get stuck! But our Butter is resourceful; I'm sure he's ok.

I may even go to the Zoo today myself, since the rain has diminished the crowds. I'm such a curmudgeon; I just don't like the crowds.

It's been drizzly all day, but stopped recently and is just gray. My husband and I just got back from the Zoo. Dear Butter was crashed out completely up in his sycamore tree (the unsleeved one).

MamaMei was equally crashed out on her rock spot below. A good day for catching some zzz's indeed.

Oh, and I didn't meet to neglect papa bear, Tian, who was also crashed out very comfortably on a big log.

I can't seem to get either cam to load today. Grrrrrr! It's raining all day here in NY. Tomorrow will be the same. We need it, tho. The ground is super dry and this will help it alot.

Holly, I'm sorry you can't get the cams to load. I think others have been having problems today too. Strangely, I've been able to view both AP cams at the same time, which isn't always the case.

Hey y'all .. I was at NZ today too... ! I'm sorry I missed you Somesai and Kathleen!!! I was sitting at the Panda Cafe a lot. I have friends visiting from Cleveland. Because we went to Baltimore yesterday, my feet were killing me today. So I only walked around a little with my friends and their son (3 1/2 yr. old) and sat at the Panda Cafe for a bit. Funny thing is that I was answering questions about the pandas from other folks up there! :-) Funny....

I do have some pictures, but they're not as good as my first visit in January. I saw that Butter was up that "triple sleeve" tree, and I saw him climb up the sycamore tree. I talked to Christy (one of the volunteers). I did ask her a few questions... including the one about the web cams cutting out when the keepers come out!! You know what the biggest question I heard from people in the Panda Cafe about Mei and Tian? Why they are in 2 separate enclosures. I think I did a pretty good job of answering. ;-)

I am very happy to have you guys updating today because I haven't been able to connect to the cam. I think I'm experiencing pandawithdrawal. I NEED to see my baby!

csf: I love your description of him nursing. And the initial squeal when Tai came into the den at 5:30 I think was baby panda for "hungry mommy!"

I saw Tai play fight with mom on this sleeved tree. Mei tried to stop Tai coming up. And Tai finally succeeded to climb up high to reach her, after Mei climbed up higher and hadn't stop him climbing over the sleeve. Mei's weight broke a branch and fell once. Very enjoyable scene!

afternoon fruitsicle battle. despite Tai's wrestling champ status, he was roundly trounced by Mei's foot. He is now playing with the 2nd best boo.

earlier, as Mei was inside and the keepers in the yard, I saw one of them slip him a biscuit. He chewed on it for a few minutes but I think they are a problem for him. His baby teeth maybe find them too hard? Mei came out and investigated, she may have eaten the rest of the biscuit.
